Class Announcements
Hard Working Pre Schoolers
This week our morning routine has changed a bit. We will be learning how to hold a pencil correctly, and begin learning how to write our names. The students are so excited to have their very own pencil. We are also starting to learn our birthday. Mrs. Licata has a fun cheery song that the kids love when they are having birthday time. Mrs. Licata is rewarding her students daily as they are learning their birthdays very quickly. The students are very excited about their accomplishments this week in class.
Happy New Year
Happy New Year! Mrs. Licata's class is starting the new year off on the right foot. In the month of January Pre-Kindergarten 3 have been getting back into the groove of their daily routines after being gone from a long break. This month we are learning about the color white, and what things in the class are white. Students are learning how to spell the color W-H-I-T-E, and  are learning a very fun song about the color white. We have finished learning about our numbers 0-9 and will be reviewing these numbers. Students will be doing sorting and counting activities as we review the numbers. The letters we are talking about this month is the letters, G, O, and Q. Students will be doing activities and crafts with these letters. Our new shape for that we are learning about is a triangle, and we will review the shapes we have learned about so far this year. We will be focusing on 4 books this month, week by week. The first week will be the book Corduroy, students will learn the poem Wee Willie Winkle that coordinates with this book. They will also be doing several activities that go along with the book. Week two we will read the book When It Starts to Snow, students will learn the Nursery Rhyme Poem Elise Marley. Students will be doing activities in class that go along with the book. Week three we will read the book There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Snow, students will learn the Nursery Rhyme Poem that coordinates with the story The North Wind Doth Blow. Students will be doing activities in the class that go along with the book. The last week we will be focusing on a book titles The Snowy Day, students will learn the Nursery Rhyme Poem Little Robin Redbreast. Students will be doing activities in the class that go along with the book.

As you can see we are a busy gang this month. Mrs. Licata's conferences will begin Tuesday, January 19th and will continue through Thursday, January 21st.

Were falling into Fall
It is hard to believe we are ending our fourth week of school already. I have really enjoyed getting to know your child, and feel like I have my own special connection with each one of them. We are finally settled into our new classroom. We have worked so hard learning school rules and falling into a school routine. In the month of August we learned about the color red, the shape; circle, the number 1, and the letter "A." September has been a wonderful month for us as we are learning a new color; black, the shape square, the numbers 2 & 3, and letters E, F, and L. I am so proud of your child and his/her accomplishments so far this school year.
